In the house
above you will find the S*Absolut Coon´s cattery. The two-legged
persons that live in the house are Eva and Per-Arne Bjuhr.
We are happy
to say that our six Maine Coon cats fully accept that we live in the
house with them.
We had our first
litter in October 2003. It was an enourmous experience to watch the
six small creatures being born and to see them grow up into lovely kittens
(A-litter).
During the years
2003 up to today (march 2014) we have had 15 litters. You will find
them all under "Litters".
We will be very
particular about whom we sell our kittens to, but if you can guarantee
a loving home for the kitten you are very welcome to contact us.
We will try to
concentrate more on quality than on quantity. Our ambition is to have
about one litter pro year with healty, well typed maine coon cats with
a very good temperament. As we do not plan so many litters pro year
we hope to be able to give the kittens a lot of our time, so that they
will be self-confident, secure and with that magnificent temper that
the Maine Coons are known for.
The cats are
members of our family. They are free to use the whole house, except
for the garage. In front of our new house the cats have free access
to an outdoor run where they can spend as much time as they want, regardles
of the weather! The outdoor run is working and is a place our cats loves
to be in - although it needs a bit more shelves and climbing things
for the cats before it is really ready.
The cats sleep
with us in our bed and they spend all other time near us, when that
is possible.
Our ambition
is to follow the PawPeds Healthprogram concerning, for the moment, HCM-tests
(ultrasound and DNA) as well as HD-tests. (HCM means Hypertrofic myocardia
- a heart disease that exists in all cat breeds. HD means hip-dysplasia,
which exists in many dogs as well as in cats.) We have also started
to do the genetic tests for SMA and PK-def. These tests are performed
on all our breeding cats before taking them into our breeding program.
We hope this
presentation has given you a picture of us and our beloved cats. If
you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail,
telephone or write us a letter! We will love to hear from you!
